Using EMDR Therapy for Early Intervention

PTSD, depression, anxiety and other disorders do not begin showing up on the day when the trauma happened. In most cases, people develop these symptoms months or even years after the traumatic incident.

Research shows that EMDR Early Intervention can help prevent the development of PTSD, depression and anxiety, if the person is treated within the first hours or days after a traumatic experience. When left untreated, the effects and impact of that trauma is exacerbated by the ongoing life stressors. Your past trauma does not capture your daily struggles but it does magnify them.

Early Intervention procedures are specifically designed to provide immediate relief to clients with intense psychological and emotional distress, and to increase emotional resilience.

Published research has proven the effectiveness, efficacy and feasibility of early intervention treatment in reducing PTSD, anxiety and depression.

EMDR early interventions procedures include: EMDR-PRECI, EMDR-IGTP, ASSYST and ASSYT-G. Treat. Prevent. Improve.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.

EMDR helps us process negative feelings and change the way we think about ourselves and our memories. Unlike talk-therapy, EMDR reprocesses memories and feelings about the past faster by changing thought patterns directly to help you feel better in a shorter timeframe.

EMDR does not erase your memories, but rather soothes them, so they no longer have power over you.
